Ziti: Thanks for any help with hints, I really appreciate everything what can make this pages better. And I have to say I'm desperately looking forward to your strategy of solving Wrong Killer...

RohanRao: Yes, this situation is counted as two pairs.
There are 8 pairs of adjacent cells in each row/column, so there can be 0 to 8 pairs of consecutive digits.

I have a doubt in Outside Consecutive of Krtek's Cup.

Can there be three consecutive digits adjacent?
As in 4-5-6?

If yes, then is it counted as 'two' pairs? (4-5 and 5-6)

Would anybody like any help with writing some of these Hints files in another language? It seems to me that the site is in Slovak and English already, so to write some of the files in English wouldn't be too strange of an idea. At the very least -- I see links now anyways, but some of them are of no use to me...

I don't think these would have to be *translations* necessarily; someone (I'm volunteering myself for, say, Killer) could just write a helpful strategy guide in English since the strategy doesn't really depend on language, no? Maybe if *one* file were translated into English (so us anglophones would know how broad/narrow to make the new strategy pages) then that would take care of the rest. The hosts of the site already do enough, it's time the rest of us do something. :)

And please do hurry! I am regularly getting crushed at Quadro and GT variants!! :)

drumlin: Just note, this website is made by Czech and Slovak people but it has no official status, it's "private" website, not a product of Sudoku Federation or something like that.

I realize that translating can be a problem, especially rules to Online variants or Krtek's cup, other things would be done once, I think. It was more question to the forum to know if someone would appreciate this...

Well, this is basically the website for the Czech an Slovak Sudoku Federation, so I'm not sure how you all feel about adding a whole bunch of new languages.

Don't misunderstand me, I'm not against it -- just to the contrary. This would add a whole new dimension to this site since even more people would probably come and join the competitions. And I'm very grateful indeed that we -- from the rest of the world -- are able to take part in playing Sudoku here, especially since there are so many different kinds of puzzles available.

So before you decide to provide more languages, please keep also in mind that the process of translating and maintaining a set of languages can be quite tricky and tedious under certain circumstances -- depending on how this process is set up. And I'm speaking from experience there. But you will know about that yourself.

Fred, drumlin: If you want, I can use "a cult term" "hraje" in player's stats in future. Or should I use "playing", "spielend", "jouant", "sonante" etc. instead? Any other languages required (not only for that word, for whole website I think)?

Found another "real" bug

This one is related to a player's statistics in daily Sudoku. How to reproduce:

1. click for instance "Easy" and there on a player's name to display this player's overview over the current month's results in daily Sudoku (can also be done by selecting "By name" and entering the player's name, of course)
2. from the box in the upper right corner of the main display area select "By time"; this displays the results for the current month in the level "easy" ordered by time
3. select either "medium", "hard" or "nonconsecutive" from the combo box, then click the Submit button

What would be expected now would be the result listing for the selected level but we return instead to the monthly overview for the selected player.

I think you're right about that, Fred

This would be a shame to change word "hraje". It became a cult term on this site!

OK, here goes...

The first two reports of missing translations relate to the playing window of the daily Sudoku:

- directly after logging in there's the phrase "Prihlásený" preceding the user name of the logged-in player
- after having successfully finished and committed a game of Sudoku, "Váš èas bol zapísaný do databázy." appears at the bottom of the screen

And here's a report related to the website:
- when viewing a player's statistics of the weekly alternatives and this player currently is playing any of these alternatives, then "hraje" appears

I'll be back if I find more

Ales, does this include missing translations? Or would you rather not be bothered with those?

drumlin: Thanks a lot for your bug report, I hope I will not have to use Bugzilla for all these bugs...
